Doritos goes viral for “Crash” Campaign

I don’t really understand where the concept of crisps (chips) and women go together?! I understand snacks, beer and sports is an extremely stereotypical definition of a male’s concept of heaven but understanding how a bag of Doritos helps produce women to be attracted to you… beats me! However I do think it is genius simply because it is random. The only thing missing out of my equation of sports, beers and snacks is in fact “hot” women. Having a random subject and relating it to your product is smart… because the only rule you do follow is the comedy aspect… It builds a platform to not only show that your product is flexible in any circumstance but you always have a door for a new idea.

Doritos have always reached out to their audiences to produce a new advert for TV. This year they’re going a step further… They have narrowed it down to 5 finalists who have created and produced a new viral ad’ campaign. This will be aired during this year’s 2012 Super Bowl game. Here’s one of the finalists:

This is random and hilarious… Compared to last year’s advert they are 2 very different concepts. This is a great way in which Doritos produce content for their viral campaigns. Two extreme and random ideas which only relate because of how unrelated the subject and the product are. Crisps attracting women and turning you into a “Bird of Prey”.
